J&J Monitoring was founded in 2002 out of necessity. The necessity to quell violence and motivate the unmotivated has evolved into a fierce mission to sustain the souls trapped in the trenches of poverty, educational deficits, unresolved/ untreated trauma, systemic neglect and abuse. Those souls that are forced to live a meager existence of survival are our target population, intentionally. Where other efforts have grown weary and/ or lack the courage to dive into the mire, J & J represents a steadfast, tenacious, and determined approach to meet difficult populations exactly where they are.

Since 2010 J&J has had vast experiences, connectivity, and a solid reputation in all 8 wards of the District. Through both tribulations and triumphs, J&J has had positive impact on hundreds of lives through pro-social activities, mediations, violence prevention, and just by being a steady consistent strong presence in the communities. Forty plus youth committed to the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services reaped the benefits of J&J aggressive mentoring from 2013 – 2018. In addition to aggressive mentoring, J&J implemented an evidenced base model – Seven Challenges – specifically designed to address the substance abuse/ dependence of young adults through group and individual sessions.
